Baroque Tea Dance

  • Saturday 28 October, 2017 – 3.00 pm
  • Theatr Brycheiniog Studio
  • Tickets: £12

The Tea Dance welcomes beginners and enthusiasts to enjoy an afternoon of Baroque dance accompanied by the Tea Dance Trio, and a sumptuous afternoon tea. Visitors to the Festival are invited to familiarise themselves with some of the steps during the dance workshop earlier in the day.

For those who live locally, Peter Brock will also be leading four pre-Festival dance workshops from 2pm - 4pm on Tuesdays 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th October. These will take place at the Subud Centre, Canal Bank, Brecon, LD3 7HH. There will be a small cost for each workshop to cover the hall hire. For more information and to register for these workshops please email

The majority of the dances are uncomplicated and all are enjoyable. They are selected in keeping with the festival theme, and many of them, although classed as country dances, were enjoyed at royal balls. The country dances were informal and intended for pleasure rather than stylised performance.

Refreshments are served during the interval and give those attending the chance to socialise and make new friends. Come in period costume or smart casual clothes.
