Event information

We present the story of how the project was conceived and filmed, opening a window on the process, from Rachel Podger’s first reimagining to Chad Kelly’s conclusion. Horatio Clare sets the scene in the wilds of the Brecon Beacons and walks us in the footsteps of Bach. Rachel and Chad talk about the Festival and the project, and the musicians fill the Cathedral as they discover and perform Chad’s brilliant creation.

Horatio Clare grew up in the mountains nearby and his book, “Something of his Art: Walking to Lübeck with J S Bach”, will feature in the Festival’s three-year plan from 2021.
