We are delighted to welcome back Dr Keith Chapin (Cardiff University, School of Music) to give our pre-concert talk this year.
Dr Keith Chapin is Senior Lecturer in Music at Cardiff University. From Alaska originally, he studied at Yale University (BA), Yale School of Music (MMus, viola performance), and Stanford University (PhD, musicology). Before moving to Wales in 2011, he lectured at Fordham University (New York) and the New Zealand School of Music (Wellington). He is currently at work on a book on music and the sublime in the long eighteenth century, and has published on the aesthetics of counterpoint and of classicism, on composers such as Telemann, C. P. E. Bach, and Beethoven, and on intersections between literature and music, especially around E. T. A. Hoffmann.
