We are delighted to welcome Dr Hannah French to Brecon to discuss her book, The Rolling Year: Listening to the Seasons with Vivaldi.

It’s over 300 years since Vivaldi wrote his evergreen work, ‘The Four Seasons’, one of the earliest and most successful examples of programme music - instrumental music designed to tell a story or paint a picture. Musicologist Dr Hannah French embraces the art of listening seasonally in her exploration of this classic work which continues to reveal new truths to its listeners.
